As a Senior Substation Physical Designer, you will be working in a project team environment with engineers and other designers involved in high and extra high voltage substation design. Responsibilities will include the preparation of the following substation drawings:- Substation General Arrangement- Substation Electrical Equipment Plans- Substation Section Views (Elevations)- Substation Detailed Bill of Material- Substation Lightning Stroke Shielding Plan- Substation Grounding Plan- Substation Conduit, Electrical Connection and Grounding Details- Substation Below Grade Conduit/Raceway Plan- Control Building Equipment, Cable Tray, Lighting, Grounding Plans and SectionOther responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Interpreting and incorporating vendor information into design deliverables.- Performing walkdowns at client facilities.- Applying Client's standards related to the work.- Mentoring other designers and drafters. 

Our electric power generation clients are updating and replacing the power plant control systems with new digital control systems.  This is expanding work in the Instrumentation and Controls Engineering group.   You will work on major process controls engineering projects for upgrades and modifications to nuclear power plants in the following areas:- Digital Systems -- PLC, DCS, Touchscreen displays, network switches and control systems- Functional Requirement and Procurement Specifications for instrumentation and control systems for nuclear power plants- Process instrumentation replacement evaluation reports and nuclear modification packages- Mechatronics, Control Systems for pumps, valves, heat exchangers, steam turbines and reactors to improve the functionality of the client’s plant- Attend client meetings and perform site walkdowns to ensure the client is satisfied with our work product- Provide guidance as a mentor in the development of less experienced nuclear instrumentation and controls design engineers

- This position will offer you the ability to directly apply your knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and power plant engineering- You will be preparing calculations, specifications, and technical reports to support client recommendations and reviews, and will additionally conduct equipment sizing, optimization evaluation, and selection in response to project needs- While supporting project teams with other Mechanical Engineers, you will be involved in system engineering, including the design, modification, and analysis of power plant mechanical systems- There is the potential for you to travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs
