Piping Engineering & Analysis SynopsisThe Piping Engineering & Analysis discipline performs evaluations for piping systems in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.7, and other codes as applicable to thespecific evaluation being performed. The Piping Engineering & Analysis discipline also performs the following specialty topics.- Vibration monitoring and analysis to evaluate system operational vibrations associated with plant modifications and operating events, and to provide vibration prevention and mitigation solutions and designs.- Evaluation of hydraulic transients, evaluation of piping systems for thermal stratification effects, operability evaluations, and qualification of piping for hydrodynamic loads.- Pipe rupture evaluations, evaluation of pipe wall thinning due to flow accelerated corrosion (FAC) or microbiological induced corrosion (MIC), and pipe flaw evaluations.Under the direction of the division manager, you will perform piping analysis work, and interface with systems engineering, structural engineering, piping design, and support design groups, in the design of piping systems and pipe supporting elements. Under the guidance of members of the Piping Analysis team, you will support engineering design projects in the following areas:- Prepare analytical reports determining the reactions of piping on equipment and structures- Interpret and apply code requirements- Review proposed piping support systems, identify issues, and recommend appropriate, cost-effective solutions- Interface and exchange engineering details between external contacts including equipment suppliers, clients, and installation contractors- Manage workload to meet project commitments- Consult with client and others on field-related issues including follow-up reports or design modifications
