This position will offer you the ability to directly apply your knowledge of transmission line engineering including, conductors, hardware, insulation, structures, foundations and electrical principles to:- Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 765kV range. - Perform structural analysis and design of pole, lattice, framed, and guyed structures.- Perform foundation designs.- Perform conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding and induction studies.- Develop cost estimates and schedules and prepare specifications for the procurement of transmission line materials and construction. - Specify transmission line components.- Model transmission lines in PLS-CADD, determine right of way requirements, calculate conductor sags, and develop transmission line plan and profile drawings. - Review vendor submittals.This role offers a hybrid work arrangement. You'll spend three days a week in the office, giving you the flexibility to work remotely for two days. Dependent upon your location, this opportunity offers a generous relocation package.

This position will offer you the ability to apply and expand your knowledge of underground transmission line engineering, including routing, duct bank configurations, manhole placement and electrical principles to:- Design underground transmission lines for voltages up to 500kV. - Responsible for cost analyses, development of design criteria, siting and routing challenges, and placement of manholes for underground transmission lines. - Responsible for physical design including duct bank layouts, development of trenchless designs, cable pulling calculations, development of drawing packages. - Responsible for cable selection studies, determining bonding scheme, performing ampacity calculations.- Develop riser structure configuration and structural loading.- Develop specifications including cable procurement, duct bank installation, trenchless installation and general construction specifications. - Work and coordinate with vendors and clients to specify transmission line components. - Direct a small project team of other engineers, designers and drafters.This role offers a hybrid work arrangement. This position will offer the opportunity to manage project teams consisting of engineers, designers, estimators, controls, and scheduling professionals involved in Fiber and EDS design.- Work on challenging assignments from individual projects, large projects, and major programs.- Direct the Telecommunications and Automation Engineering team leads in the coordination of detailed design phases for all aspects of Grid Modernization engineering work.- Lead efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, with high quality, on time performance and to strict financial requirements and design criteria. - Coordinate systems design activities to ensure installation and operations will comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements. - Prepare reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner, and meet requirements and formats.- Perform and provide independent reviews of work performed by others, including scopes of work, proposals, procurement specifications, and contract documents.- Conduct fiber optic network design for middle mile and last mile fiber-based networks or Fiber to Facilities projects.- Equipment in the designs that support these systems include: Microwave and Point-to-Multipoint Radios, Fiber Optic Multiplexers, SONET and MPLS electronics, Channel Banks, LAN and WAN Switches and Routers, Communication Processors, RTUs, HMIs, AC and DC Auxiliary Power systems, and Asset Health Monitoring devices.Additional tasks include:- Take an active role in project conceptualization, work planning, and project execution.- Work on challenging assignments that include investigating and solving a wide variety of telecommunications engineering issues.- Develop your career via peer-learning through sharing of knowledge with other experienced engineers by way of S&L's systems of process and associated "Communities of Practice." - In addition, there may be the opportunity to travel to client sites as needed.This role offers a hybrid work arrangement.
