Sargent & Lundy’s Government Services Division provides cutting-edge engineering design and consulting support to the management and operating contractors for US Department of Energy (DOE) sites and national laboratories. Specifically, we support the DOE Environmental Management Directorate as well as the National Nuclear Security Administration laboratories and sites. What does this mean? You can be a part of multi-discipline design teams supporting projects cleaning up the environmental damage associated with the legacy nuclear weapons production complex and/or preserving our country’s nuclear deterrent. Sargent & Lundy’s personnel design facilities, systems, and equipment that treat, store, and dispose of nuclear waste as well as systems that safely handle and process nuclear material. This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with a mix of work spent in office and working remote from home. This position will offer you the opportunity to work and lead others in a project team environment in the design, modification, and/or upgrade of new and existing power plant electrical systems. Under the direction of the Electrical Project Lead, you will work with multi-disciplined engineering and design project teams in the development of the following: * Single-line diagrams* Relay and metering diagrams* AC and DC schematic diagrams* Synchronizing diagrams* Point to point wiring diagrams* Cable schedules* Grounding Layout You will produce electrical wiring drawings, and review and incorporate vendor drawings into the overall project design.There will be opportunities to accompany and assist in field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities. Capable of being badged for unescorted access to a nuclear station.
