    Responsibilities

    • As a member of the electrical design team, this position will offer you the opportunity to work with multi-disciplined engineering and design project teams in developing electrical physical equipment location, grounding, cable tray, raceway, and conduit layout deliverables
    • Participate in 3D model reviews and the coordination of detailed design phases for all aspects of an integrated electrical design
    • Provide support to other designers and project team members in order to ensure a complete and timely design
    • Layout electrical equipment maintaining required spatial clearances utilizing 3D modeling software
    • Develop physical cable tray, raceway, and conduit layout designs utilizing 3D modeling software in an integrated 3D design environment
    • Layout electrical equipment, grounding, cable tray, raceway, conduit and components utilizing system design criteria and engineering input
    • Work with electrical equipment 3D model layout and vendor drawings to verify equipment and cable destination points   
    • Route cable and manage raceway and conduit requirements such as fill, weight, separation in an integrated cable management system
    • Work in 3D model with other design disciplines to ensure that physical clearances are met and constructability, accessibility, and operations and maintenance requirements are maintained
    • Work with electrical and instrumentation and control engineers in the development of all physical design and cable routing
    • Work with wiring designers in the development of the project’s cable management system
    • Develop 2D electrical equipment location, cable tray, raceway, and conduit drawings from the 3D model
    • Develop required schedules for components, grounding layout drawings and details, and electrical details required for construction
    • Generate complete bills of materials for cable tray, raceways and conduit, cable, and electrical components

    Qualifications

    We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.

     

    Essential skills and experience:

    • An Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and 1 or more years drafting course work or equivalent technical experience
    • Four or more years of detailed physical design experience in the development of electrical equipment location drawings, grounding layouts, cable tray, raceway and embedded and exposed conduit drawings
    • Proficiency with design software tools in executing 3D plant layout models
    • Experience in the review of electrical physical layout drawings including electrical equipment outlines and interface points, and coordinating and developing the associated deliverables
    • Ability to interface with engineering and design teams of other disciplines in the project design process

    Valued but not required experience:

    • Proficiency with MicroStation
