    Sargent & Lundy provides comprehensive consulting, engineering, design and analysis for electric power generation and power delivery projects worldwide. We are currently looking for a qualified Corporate Communications Specialist for our downtown Chicago office.



    As part of Sargent & Lundy’s Corporate Communications team, you will play a critical role in supporting the firm’s corporate messaging and branding identity across the entire organization in multi-channel internal and external marketing communications strategies. You will work closely with the leaders of the firm to determine their initiatives and develop communication strategies to achieve these objectives. 


    The ideal candidate is well-rounded in media relations and content marketing; must show demonstrated success in developing multiple digital and print projects simultaneously from start to completion; and is eager to grow in the Marketing and Communications space.


    • Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of the company brand program and all associated assets and materials
    • Coordinate media communications, including preparing articles, press releases and other content initiatives
    • Assist with managing internal and external company websites to ensure a consistent corporate image
    • Develop various types of digital and print marketing collateral while ensuring adherence to brand guidelines
    • Create content for website, intranet, social media and other channels
    • Assist in developing and reviewing website analytic reports and SEO efforts
    • Assist in implementing and maintaining an archive system for company photography assets
    • Ensure compliance with applicable marketing related laws, regulations, company policies and guidelines


    Essential Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related field
    • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in a role heavily focused on writing, media relations, internal communications and/or crisis communications (samples of marketing collateral and writing are required)
    • Excellent creative and professional writing skills
    • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
    • Advanced proofreading/editing/copywriting skills with high attention to spelling, grammar usage and style
    • Familiarity with creating brand guidelines
    • Basic creative design experience
    • Able to effectively manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment

    Valued but Not Required

    • Power/energy/utilities industry experience in communications, public relations and/or marketing
    • Experience in photography (studio setting) and videography
    • Experience with digital asset management systems
    • Experience with Google Analytics
    • Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) best practices
