Due to continued growth, the Transmission Line Engineering section of our Power Delivery Services business unit currently has a new opportunity for an Intern working in its Chattanooga, Tennessee office.

Responsibilities

  • As an Associate Intern, you will be assigned to work on a project team and assist the Transmission Line Engineering team members in the execution of their project work. These projects may involve the design of new and/or modifications and upgrades to Transmission Line engineering projects.
  • Working under the direction of senior engineers, this position will offer you the opportunity to utilize and expand your academic background in engineering one or more of the following areas:
    • Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs. 
    • Work on a variety of tasks associated with project reporting, such as tracking and evaluating project activities, project progress, and associated data. 

Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering with an expected graduation date in Spring 2018 or Fall 2018.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Valued but not required skills and experience:

  • Prior, related internship or co-op experience is preferred.
  • An understanding of the practical application of engineering and technology, including applying systems, principles, techniques, and procedures to a project design.
