This position will offer you the opportunity to work in a project team environment with other engineers and designers involved in the design, modification, and analysis of nuclear power plant electrical systems.


You will work on challenging assignments that include investigating, trouble-shooting, and a solving a wide variety of electrical engineering issues and you will have the opportunity to:

  • Prepare analysis and design of electrical systems associated with power generation and support process systems
  • Prepare conceptual designs, equipment or system requirements, and specifications
  • Prepare and review detailed calculations, including three phase power studies, short circuit, voltage drop, motor starting, and protective relay settings
  • Prepare documentation for design input for drawing production
  • Prepare technical reports and studies
  • Perform independent reviews of work performed by others, including calculations and drawing preparation
  • Assist the project lead to ensure that projects are completed satisfactorily, on time and within budget
  • Serve as liaison to the client in a support or lead engineering role
  • Develop project work plans

BSEE or MSEE and:


  • Five or more years of experience in the design of nuclear power plant electrical engineering systems in a project team environment with a focus on integrated, detailed system design for new plants or for modifications to existing plants
  • Experience in the selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications
  • Electrical system design experience, including medium and low voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors), communication systems, equipment selection, and analytical calculations)
  • Effective analytical and problem solving, critical thinking skills
  • Experience in reviewing design drawings
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
