Sargent and Lundy is currently hiring a Mechanical Engineer on a Full-time, Temporary basis. 

Responsibilities

  • You will work on challenging assignments that include investigating, trouble-shooting, and solving a wide variety of mechanical engineering issues.
  • Perform ASME Section III stress analysis of nuclear components using ANSYS software.
  • Prepare engineering calculations and reports.

Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering with four or more years of experience in the design of mechanical engineering systems.
  • Proficiency with ANSYS Modeler, Workbench and APDL (ANSYS Parametric Design Language) for the design and analysis of mechanical components.
  • Experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section III.
  • Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role.
  • Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others.
  • This position requires the successful completion of a background investigation, including a check of criminal records for nuclear plant access.  Applicants must be able to obtain unescorted access to nuclear power facilities.

Valued but not required skills and experience:

  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and designation as an Engineer in Training.
  • Experience in writing and providing support documentation for Mechanical Engineering calculations.
