We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Intern to support our IT department in the areas of Project Coordination, IT Demand Management, and Software Asset Management. This internship is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in IT governance, project management, and software lifecycle oversight within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. IT Project Coordination

  • Assist in planning, tracking, and reporting on IT project progress.
  • Support project teams with documentation, scheduling meetings, and preparing status updates.
  • Coordinate communication between stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors.
  • Help maintain project management tools and dashboards (e.g., Azure DevOps, Asana etc.).

2. IT Demand Management

  • Support the intake and prioritization process of IT requests from business units.
  • Assist in gathering requirements and documenting business needs.
  • Track demand pipeline and prepare reports for review by IT leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align incoming demands with strategic IT goals.
  • Assist with the organization and administration of our project portfolio management solution.

3. Software Asset Management (SAM)

  • Assist with data entry tied to the software procurement workflow.
  • Assist in tracking software licenses and usage to ensure compliance.
  • Help maintain and update the software asset inventory.
  • Support audits and reviews related to software procurement and usage.
  • Coordinate with vendors and procurement teams for license renewals and new purchases.

 

This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid schedule with the expectation of 3 days per week in our Chicago, IL office, and 2 days remote from home.

Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Basic understanding of IT project lifecycle and software management.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to learning.
