Description

This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with a mix of work spent in office (3) and working remote from home (2).

 

As a Technical Editor, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing, editing, and formatting technical, client-facing reports, proposals, presentations, specifications, and other deliverables in a high-volume environment.
  • Providing feedback/comments to document preparers.
  • Assisting document preparers present content clearly and concisely.
  • Working one-on-one or in groups to lead tutorials and trainings.
  • Creating and updating marketing materials, including copy/content creation and design elements.
  • Creating and editing PowerPoint decks.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation and databases for project record-keeping and personnel information.
  • Assisting in developing and building standard operating procedures for new processes to improve the efficiency and quality of the work the team is producing.
  • Assisting project managers/teams to develop and compile proposals that address RFP-required information, and to add, maintain, and strengthen client relations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, technical writing, marketing, or related field.
  • 2+ years of professional editing experience.
  • Knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Adobe DC/Pro.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, prioritize tasks; show a high level of personal accountability, and sound decision-making.
  • Flexible and willing to take on new tasks as needed.
  • A team player, a self-starter, and open to occasional overtime, especially at year end.
  • Experience working in an engineering firm environment a plus.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign (and/or other graphic programs) a plus.
