Description

As a PowerBI Developer and Analyst you will apply your technical skills to meet project and client needs for creating and maintaining tools to support project teams. This work will include interfacing directly with the project team to support specific business processes automation. You will develop tools and collaborate in growing business environment by using a variety of in-house and custom data sources. Under the direction of a project lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Design, build, and thoroughly test high-quality, efficient, applications for automating core business processes.
  • Utilize existing data models and author where there are current gaps in data.
  • Developing interactive reports and dashboards to visualize data.
  • Cleaning and transforming data to make it suitable for analysis.
  • Work with Project Managers and team members to provide actionable business insights to support decision-making.
  • Ensure the ongoing functionality and performance of BI solutions.
  • Manage a development schedule, regularly updating the Project Manager on progress towards automation milestones.
  • Ensure adherence to SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) and Citizen Developer guidelines to promote the adoption of best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Design in-solution proper exception handling, metric reporting, global variables, and other best practices.
  • Own code quality, unit testing and deployment of all work.
  • Collaborate directly with the Project Manager to clarify and further define the backlog and prioritization of work.
  • Clearly communicate your estimating, planning, and managing work and progress reporting to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Effectively document your work for knowledge sharing within the team as well as the wider IT organization.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business (Management Information Systems), Computer Science or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of project and working experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerBI in creating detailed dashboards and interactive tools. Experience with Power Automate, Dataverse, and related M365 workloads is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with PowerBI, Sharepoint, and Data Connectors to support business processes.
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets, derive insights, and raise issues to the project team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to interact and multitask with project team members, clients, and vendors of varying position levels.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Eager to learn new skills and develop knowledge to make a valuable impact to the project team operation.
  • Willing to engage with others to understand project team needs.
  • Committed to deliver high quality and accurate deliverables with attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge in MS Office tools.
  • Must be fully bilingual in Spanish and English (read, speak, and write).

Valued but not required skills and experience:

  • Related engineering internship, co-op, or work experience, which includes project controls, project planning, project scheduling, and earned value performance, preferably within the power industry.
